My name is Aleyda Solís, a 26 years old web enthusiast. I am a Systems Engineer with an E-Commerce Master who has had the privilege to work in diverse Internet related projects -my great passion- since the year 2000.
I am in charge of the travel network of websites in Internet Advantage, an Internet marketing company where I develop projects in the “online travel” area, which allows me to apply and expand my web development and online marketing knowledge.
Other information about me:
I am nicaraguan: I was born and I grew up in Managua, Nicaragua -beautiful land of lakes and volcanoes, dangerous hurricanes and revolutions-.
I live in Salamanca, wonderful student town with impressive monuments where I came to study a Master in the University of Salamanca.
I am fluent in french (J’ai etudié au Collège Nicaraguayen Français), english (a practical and straight-forward language, “a must” if you work on the Internet) and spanish (my native language).
I entered to the web design and development world back in 1999, during my first university year, when an HTML course was organized. Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend the course because I had my “Calculus I” class at the same time and dates, so I started to learn by myself and I loved it… after the course a web design contest was organized: I registered and won.
I had my first job in 2000 when I was hired as a part-time web designer.
The title of my Systems Engineering graduation thesis was: “Methodological Guide for Web Application Modeling of E-Commerce Sites in Nicaragua.”
I am an enthusiast of everything related to the web, not only the technical but also the business aspects: design, development, optimization, maintenance, promotion, project management, commercialization…
I love to travel, get to know new places and cultures. My favorite places are: Paris, Crans-Montana, Istanbul and Buenos Aires.
I have a beautiful English Bulldog called Doki who has his own blog.
I am a mac user: I started by buying an iBook G4 in 2005 to try and now I am a mac fan, happy with my MacBook and iPod.
This blog is a place to share my ideas and day to day experiences about technology, events, trends and all what can call my attention.
